Time to enjoy famous pilgrim mass and the amazing Botafumeiro traditional swinging. The pilgrim mass is held at the cathedral’s high altar every day at noon. One of the most famous symbols of the cathedral is the Botafumeiro, which may be largest censer in the world. The Botafumeiro weighs 53 kilograms and measures 1.5 metres. Using a complex system of pulleys, it is swung from the central cupola of the cathedral, from which it hangs, towards the side aisles.

We will guide you through Santiago de Compostela’s historic quarter. It is among the most elegant in Spain, blessed with beautiful monasteries, churches and historic palaces. Your guide will walk you through its Gothic architecture and quaint cobbled streets which are definitely worth exploring.

Afterwards, enjoy a very typical spanish lunch, famous for the special tapas, pinchos, and montaditos. And take the chance to visit Santiago de Compostela historical centre. If you rather have a memorable portuguese lunch, we are happy to guide you straight to a very typical portuguese restaurant near the countries border, according to the group preferences.

We will head to one of the most beautiful cities in the north of Portugal, Viana do Castelo. Very involvement in the manufacturing of the ships for the Portuguese sea discoveries and its filigree gold work. Traje museum, República Square and the amazing Cathedral of Viana do Castelo, will be part of the visit and of course you will be able to enjoy Santa Luzia hill and its breathtaking sanctuary.

If you rather visit the beautiful and small village Valença, we are happy to adjust the group preferences to this tour, according to the remaining time.

After some free time to shopping and visit the most traditional places in the North of Portugal, we will drive you back to Porto, full of new memories to remember and stories to tell.
